Victor Chang

Prof. Victor Chang is a Professor of Business Analytics based at Operations and Information Management, Aston Business School, Aston University UK, since mid-May 2022. He was previously a Professor of Data Science and Information Systems at the School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies, Teesside University, UK, between September 2019 and mid-May 2022. He has deep knowledge and extensive experience in AI-oriented Data Science and has made significant contributions in multiple disciplines. He has been well-established in research, funding and scholarly achievements. Prof Chang is one of the most highly cited researchers apart from being an international leading active scientist with a premier reputation and track records. He worked on every project with details known. He is a highly efficient, effective, organized, responsible and self-disciplined scholar to make things happen. Within 4 years, Prof Chang completed Ph.D. (CS, Southampton) and PGCert (Higher Education, Fellow, Greenwich) while working on several projects at the same time. Before becoming an academic, he achieved 97% on average in 27 IT certifications. He won a 2001 full Scholarship, a European Award on Cloud Migration in 2011, IEEE Outstanding Service Award in 2015, best papers in 2012, 2015 and 2018, the 2016 European award: Best Project in Research, 2016-2018 SEID Excellent Scholar, Suzhou, China, Outstanding Young Scientist award in 2017, 2017 special award on Data Science, 2017-2021 INSTICC Service Awards, Talent Award Suzhou 2019, Top 2% Scientist 2017/2018, 2019/2020 & 2020/2021, the most productive AI-based Data Analytics Scientist between 2010 and 2019, Highly Cited Researcher 2021 and numerous awards mainly since 2011. Prof Chang was involved in different projects worth more than £14 million in Europe and Asia. He has published 3 books as the sole author and the editor of 2 books on Cloud Computing and related technologies. He published 1 book on web development, 1 book on mobile apps and 1 book on Neo4j. He gave 30 keynotes at international conferences. He is widely regarded as one of the most active and influential young scientists and experts in IoT/Data Science/Cloud/security/AI/IS, as he has the experience to develop 10 different services for multiple disciplines. He is the founding conference chair for IoTBDS, COMPLEXIS and FEMIB to build up and foster active research communities globally with positive impacts.

Dr Jixin Ma is a Full Professor of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) and the Director of PhD/Postgraduate Research Programme in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at University of Greenwich, U.K. He has been the Director of the Centre for Computer and Computational Science and the Lead of Artificial Intelligence Research Group. Professor Ma is also a Visiting Professor of Beijing Normal University, Hainan University, Anhui University, Zhengzhou Light Industrial University and Macau City University. Professor Ma obtained his BSc and MSc of Mathematics in 1982 and 1988, respectively, and PhD of Computer Sciences in 1994. His main research areas include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Information Systems, with special interests in Temporal Logic, Information Security, Machine Learning, Case-Based Reasoning and Pattern Recognition. Professor Ma has been a member British Computer Society, American Association of Artificial Intelligence, ACIS/IEEE, World Scientific and Engineering Society, and Special Group of Artificial Intelligence of BCS. He has also been the Editor of several international journals and international conference proceedings, Conference/Program Chair, and Invited Keynote Speakers of many international conferences. Professor Ma has published more than 200 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences.

Dr. Huiyu Zhou received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Radio Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China, and a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Dundee of United Kingdom, respectively. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Dr. Zhou currently is a full Professor at School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Leicester, United Kingdom. He has published over 450 peer-reviewed papers in the field. He was the recipient of "CVIU 2012 Most Cited Paper Award", “MIUA 2020 Best Paper Award”, “ICPRAM 2016 Best Paper Award” and was nominated for “ICPRAM 2017 Best Student Paper Award” and "MBEC 2006 Nightingale Prize". His research work has been or is being supported by UK EPSRC, ESRC, AHRC, MRC, EU, Royal Society, Leverhulme Trust, Invest NI, Puffin Trust, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Invest NI and industry.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitrios A. Karras received his Diploma and M.Sc. Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece in 1985 and the Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, NTUA, Greece in 1995, with honors. During 1990-2004 he collaborated as visiting professor and researcher with several universities and research institutes in Greece and Heidelberg, Germany (DKFZ). During 2004-2018 he has been with the Sterea Hellas Institute of Technology, Automation Dept., Greece as assoc. prof. in Digital Systems and Signal Processing, as well as visiting prof. of Hellenic Open University, Dept. Informatics in Communication Systems (2002-2010). Since 1/2019 is Associate Prof. in Digital and Intelligent Systems & Signal Processing, in National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, School of Science, Dept. General as well as adjunct Assoc. Prof. Dr. with the School of Basic Sciences, BIHER University, Chennai, India, as well as with the GLA university, Mathura, India and EPOKA & CIT universities, Computer Engineering Dept., Tirana. He has published more than 80 research refereed journal papers in intelligent and distributed/multiagent systems, pattern recognition, image/signal processing and neural networks as well as in bioinformatics and more than 185 research papers in International refereed scientific Conferences. His research interests span the fields of intelligent & distributed systems, multiagent systems, pattern recognition and computational intelligence, image & signal processing/systems, biomedical systems, communications and networking as well as security and sustainability applications. He has served as program committee member as well as program/general chair at several international workshops and conferences in signal, image, communication and automation systems. Sérgio Correia (Senior Member IEEE) received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2000, the Master's Degree in Industrial Control and Maintenance Systems from Beira Interior University, Covilhã, Portugal, in 2010, and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2020. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, Portugal. He is a Researcher at COPELABS - Cognitive and People-centric Computing Research Center, Lusofona University of Humanities and Technologies, Lisbon, Portugal, and VALORIZA - Research Center for Endogenous Resource Valorization, Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, Portalegre, Portugal, and has worked with several private companies for more than 20 years. His current research interests are Wireless Sensor Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Soft Computing, Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, and Computer Architectures.

Danilo Avola earned his Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Ultrastructural Imaging from University of L'Aquila, L'Aquila, Italy, in 2014. Since 2021 he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Sapienza University of Rome, where he leads both the Robotics Vision and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (TITAN Lab) and the Computer Vison Laboratory (VisionLab). In addition, since 2018 he is R&D Senior Engineer at the W•SENSE s.r.l., a spin-off of Sapienza University of Rome, where he leads the Computer Vision Team (CVT), and since 2010 he provides consultation and collaboration to companies engaged in computer science, computer vision, and artificial intelligence research projects. Previously, he was postdoc researcher at the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics (DMIF), University of Udine, Udine, Italy, and R&D Senior Engineer at the Artificial Vision and Real-Time Systems Laboratory (AVIRES Lab) at the same University. Even before, he was R&D Senior Engineer and Supervisor, earlier, at the Multimodal & Multimedia Laboratory (M&M Lab) of the National Research Council, Rome, Italy, and, later, both at the Pictorial Computing Laboratory (PCL Lab) and at the Artificial Vision Laboratory (AV Lab) of Sapienza University of Rome. Among other awards and prizes, Danilo Avola received, in 2020, the Outstanding Paper Award for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (TII). Currently, he is Reviewer of top International Journals in Computer Vision, including Pattern Recognition, Pattern Recognition Letters, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems, and International Journal of Computer Vision; in addition, he is Associate Editor and Guest Editor of different ranked International Journals. He has published around 100 papers on these topics. Since 2011, and he is member of IAPR, CVPL, and IEEE.

Francesco Mercaldo received his master degree in computer engineering from the University of Sannio (Benevento, Italy), with a thesis in software testing. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2015 with a dissertation on malware analysis using machine learning techniques. The research areas of Francesco are related to data mining, deep learning, image processing and information security. Currently, he is working as Researcher at the University of Molise, Campobasso, Italy.

Xinguo Yu is the dean of CCNU Wollongong Joint Institute and a professor of National Engineering Research Center for E-Learning at Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China. He is a senior member of both IEEE and ACM, and an adjunct professor of University of Wollongong, Australia. He is a vice director of Smart Educational Technology Branch Society under Automation Society in China, and the chair of Hubei Society of Artificial Intelligence in Research and Education. He received B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Wuhan University of Technology, M. Eng degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, another M. Eng. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from National University of Singapore. His current research mainly focuses on intelligent educational technology, educational robotics, multimedia analysis, computer vision, and machine learning. He has published over 170 research papers. He is Associate Editor and Guest Editors for several international journals. He was general chairs or program chairs or Keynote speakers for more than 30 international conferences. He is the main founder of annual International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education and Research.

Dr. Pooja Singh received his Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University). She has experience of 21 years in world’s leading CMMi-5 software multinational companies, research organizations and academic institutes. She is currently Assistant Professor in SIES Graduate School of Technology, Navi Mumbai, and has distinction of working in the field of Image processing, Artificial intelligence, Mathematical Modelling, reliability engineering, safety engineering and other mathematical sciences for to solve the various technical challenges in Nuclear Power Plants. She has an illustrious career and succeeded in several critical jobs assigned to him in his illustrious career, though, each of them was challenging. Her assignments over the years range from design, development, testing, IV&V, related research and site validation of the safety critical computer based systems of Indian Nuclear Power Plants. She has published several research papers in journals of high impact factor like IEEE Transactions, IEEE Computer, ACM, Elsevier, Quality & Reliability International, etc. She is recipient of many awards like prestigious IEEE K. Shankar award, publication award, etc. She has also received IEEE Woman Technologist award.
